Serving as a VJ for MTV’s Total Request Live was Burton-first Morgan’s big break (TRL). She was only meant to be a guest commentator for one segment, but the producers wanted to hire her full-time. Burton-Morgan went on to host MTV’s Iced Out New Year’s Eve and the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. Burton-Morgan made her tv debut in 2002, portraying herself on The WB drama Dawson’s Creek.
